Free internet for Iran
The government in Iran heavily censors the internet, blocking access to various websites and applications like WhatsApp, Skype, Facebook, and Instagram. Censorship makes it almost impossible for people in Iran to chat with their loved ones and access reliable information securely. Revolution sparked in the country following the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman arrested for wearing her headscarf loosely. In response, the government has increased its efforts to block internet access, making it even harder for people to organize, access, and share information about the protests. The MahsaAmini Foundation is working to provide free secure internet access to the people of Iran.
